Modern manufacturing is very precise and reproducible, so a given model
laptop will often have certain failure modes.
Do you use a docking station or Type C USB dongle?
Yes, I do use a Type C USB dongle. I do not use a docking station but I do use a connector
to a HDMI video. Removing either did not solve the issue, but waking it up in the morning
did for a while, so it has to be related to heat, and the fan.

Do I update these through the BIOS, I do not have Windows installed, never have, I
believe.
But this started in earnest only yesterday.
"Mild rattling sound" could be a bad bearing, screeching would be a failed
bearing causing contact on surfaces that should be separated. Hold an air
vent up close (but not too close!) your ear.
