This is a very misleading statement. The numeric pad works fine with Fedora.
However, the nedit application does not handle those keys correctly. It is not
even directly a motif problem, because the numeric keys work fine in the file
selector for example. You will need to take up this issue with the nedit
developers or just use a different editor.
I mentioned motif since in reading back on reports of numpad not working going back
10 years there were reports of it working with older builds of motif.
Apparently, this issue has existed in one form or another for quite some time.
Looking at the sourceforge tickets you can see other tickets open since 2008 and no
tickets being closed since 2005. So, that project doesn't appear to be very active
at all.
I think a "different editor" is the only sensible answer at this time. :-)
