append … radeon.audio=1
or
/boot/grub2/grub.cfg
linux … radeon.audio=1
$ modinfo -F parm radeon | grep audio

Unfortunately, I had to release the machine this morning without getting
the hdmi sound fixed. I'll have the user bring it back and I will this
a try. Thanks much for your assistance.
