You could try using the command line tool (is scanimage the name?)
That might get you a scan even if you can't use the gui to
do it.
Thanks, I didn't know that command name. However the defaults produce an
image full of vertical bands and including the device name produces the
error:
[bobg@box9 ~]$ scanimage -d avision:libusb:002:003 >image.pnm
Segmentation fault
A driver problem, something I need to install?
