Well the audience here is so varied the phrase "relevance to the rest of us" is
meaningless.
I don't think I will be doing much more with it than I've already have but poking

cri-o is Lightweight Container Runtime for Kubernetes
There is a package available on Fedora called, not so strangely, cri-o.

Now, if that is something someone is interested in learning more about they should do
their own research. I get the feeling that any "explanation" beyond what
I've posted
here could be populated with misunderstandings and misrepresentations based more on
lack of experience than lack of trying. :-) :-) Just ask anyone to explain an RFC
standard and you'll see what I mean. :-)
