Since the last time I updated my fc6 installation, my usb dives have not been automounting. Has anyone else experienced this?
Does anyone have a solution.

Yes.

No. File a bugzilla and post the number here, please? I'll "me too" it.

Update your Kernel. The disk kernel does not automount but the next update does

Which kernel does the breakage occur in and which ones work?

I have two kernels, and the usb automounting does not work with either. I have version 2.6.18-1.2849 and 2.6.18-1.2868.

I just did a reinstall of core 6. Out of the box there is a problem mounting usb drives. The 2.6.18-1.2868 kernel update works well. I did have a problem recently when I booted to run level 3 and then used startx to go to gui. If I either boot to run level 5 or change from level 3 to level 5 at the command line (telinit 5)there is no problem. Appears to be a number of sequencing issues that happen if one uses startx at level 3 rather than switching to run level 5. I don't think bug is the right term in this case but rather anomaly, I also found other work arounds such as logging in at level 5 as root and then logging off and logging in as user; works but not recommended.
