The program you want, oddly enough, is named convert. It's part of the ImageMagic package. As it happens, I just used it today to change some Microsoft icon files (.ico) into .png because Xfce doesn't recognize that format for icons.

i install asfbin, which worked to convert to mp3 and mp4 files.
now it seems that i need more to view file. error message is;
the playback of this movie requires a Advanced Streaming Format (ASF) demuxer plugin which is not installed.
but not a real problem.
i uploaded video to photobucket.com account, so now others may view;

Yup... I looked at packaging it but they bundle several libraries and were not real interested in un-bundling them so I volunteered to setup a repository instead, it's linked on the main winff page. I just uploaded 1.5.2 for F17->Rawhide the other day.

and recent imagemagick versions are for video-decode/encode too? i doubt :-)
