---- download source rpm
edit the specfile - probably something like '--with-mysql'
rebuild rpm using the edited specfile
install the built rpms

How do I get the source rpm and how do I rebuild it? Will I have to do the same everytime there's an update to postfix? Thanks, EJ

/etc/yum.conf must be listing all these repos along with /etc/yum.repo.d/fedora-*. Either remove repos conf files under /etc/yum.repo.d/ or hash enteries in yum.conf file. BTW yumdownloader do not download sources (atleast do not work for me) ... I don't know why, may be any FC person could tell the reason ? anyways, you can download source from http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/26/dist/51/size/2864401/name/postfix-2....

Yumdownloader doesn't get the source for me, either. It will download a "regular" RPM though - eg, yumlownloader postfix will grab postfix-2.3.3-2.i386.rpm... Maybe there's something in my repo files that prevents it from seeing src rpms....
You could get the srpm from here (or another mirror): ftp://ftp.linux.ncsu.edu/pub/fedora/linux/core/6/source/SRPMS/postfix-2.3.3-2.src.rpm
The run rpmbuild....

Do you have the core-source repo present/enabled? yumdownloader --enable-repo core-source --source postfix This will enable the core-source repo, asuming that you have it configured on your system.

That was it. Enabled source and it got the postfix source. I still get all those messages, but I don't care as long as I get what I need. Thanks.

fix: yumdownloader --enable-repo=core-source --source postfix
yumdownloader --source postfix Loading "installonlyn" plugin Loading "installonlyn" plugin Repository extras-development-source is listed more than once in the configuration Repository extras-development-source is listed more than once in the configuration
.....
It's pretty self explanatory. You have those repos listed more than once. See your yum.conf and your *.repo files.
