The workaround link is broken for me. Can anyone post the workaround to the list?

I tried to run the F8 install on a Dell D610 and it came to a halt at the same point as in http://marc.info/?l=fedora-list&m=119457240222172&w=2 i.e. at mounting /tmp as ramfs... done running install running /sbin/loader it simply hangs...at this point. Does anyone else find this on similar machines, and if so do you have a work around?
Try the workaround mentioned in

Fedora 8
Problem
It does not boot with the default kernel 2.6.23.1-42.fc8. Fix In order to boot to firstboot after installation, edit your grub entry with nohz=off nolapic.
/boot/grub/menu.lst: [...] root (hd0,0) kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.23.1-42.fc8 ro root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 rhgb quiet nohz=off nolapic
