Is there a HOWTO setting up a FC installed SquirrelMail anywhere? Or is it a simple softlink that needs to be done with whatever SM configurations?

Randy,
install the rpm & look for the docs in /usr/share/
check out www.squirrelmail.org for a lot of helpful info.
the squirrelmail irc channel can also provide you with a lot of specific SM help.
Best wishes

If you use the rpm every thing is set up automatically. The link to the squirrelmail directory (/usr/share/squirrelmail) is placed in /etc/httpd/conf.d/squirrelmail.conf.
All you need to do to finish the configuration is to run: conf.pl in the /usr/share/squirrelmail/config directory.

Thank you! I've got it back up and running. =)

I spoke too soon.I'm getting the following INBOX error:
ERROR : Could not complete request. Query: SELECT "INBOX" Reason Given: Internal error occured. Error report written to server log. [2004-12-03 11:15:54]
System is up to date FC2 (via YUM) using dovecot.
Any suggestions? This appears when new mail is in. If I go and use pine and quit, I can use squirrelmail to read the directory again till a new email shows up and I get the above error again.

and what does the log says?

That's the other problem, I can't find the log for it. :/

Logs are in /var/logs/ usually, check "messages" file...

I reset messages*.* and maillog*.* and now nothing is being written to them. I've given them all 777 as I figured it was a permission error, but nothing is being written to them. So I'm more clueless then ever. :/

I assume by "reset", you mean "deleted"?
You'll need to restart syslog:
# service syslog restart

You'll need to restart syslog:
# service syslog restart
Did not know that, I'll have to remember to restart syslog after deleting log files. Now that I see the error the server is complaining about, I gave the /var/spool/mail directory the proper write premission and I'm back in business! =)
Thanks all for the help!
Randy

Alternatively, you should be able to clear out log files without restarting syslog via:
cat /dev/null > file.log
The above should work on any file that a running process such as syslog has open.
