The bootup is EXTREMELY slow! starting udev: ..[dots truncated].....OK initializing hardware..[dots truncated]......storage........[dots truncated]network.[dots truncated A LOT!!!] .......audio.. [MORE TRUNCATED!].....OK OMG! THIS IS SO SLOW! augh! it's been 5 minutes already!
I need a new installation, so can I just deelte the partition and then reinstall it? Or do I need to muck around GRUB? thank you

Neither. Did this EVER boot up quickly and now it's slow? Or is this the first install?
Do you have unnecessary services running? Are you behind a router? If so, is the router doing DHCP?
