Yeah. I've been digging into it and discovered (via strace) that Xorg is terminating its brute force pci scan of /proc/bus/pci/... a bit before encountering my video device, which is the last device in the pci space. scanpci and lspci show my video, but "Xorg -scanpci" doesn't show the device.

This sounds like a bug to me since it is a pci device in hwconfig and if
I am reading the snippets correctly, it is detected or the information is wrong in one or the other.

You provided a slew of information in the zip through bugzilla. Hopefully someone gets this degradation from one release to the later release resolved. Newer is not always better, Jim
