The kernel-devel package is the headers etc. needed to build modules
(currently shipped with the regular kernel package in FC3) and not the
full kernel-source package as shipped in FC2. So in FC4 there will be
the regular kernel package, the kernel-devel package for building out of
tree modules, and the kernel SRPM for building custom kernels.
Is RHEL4 like that?
Paul.
Ups, sorry. Then I was confused by what I did read. I had the impression
the kernel-devel package would bring the sources, located then under
/usr/src/kernels/<kernel-number>. Thanks for correcting me.
So I didn't have said anything :) Don't take my words to the protocol,
sirs.
