That's right; FC1 predates Firefox, so it wasn't included. Same with FC2.

It may be difficult, as many components of FC1 are quite old.
Additionally, FC1 isn't supported by the core Fedora project anymore, and support from Fedora Legacy will be ending soon. Since you want newer software anyway, this may be a good time to upgrade.
thanks for answer Matthew. i have 2 comps. one with freebsd6.0 and this one is FC1 installed on. (due to a course taken. can do nothin, so cannot upgrade :p) wish to use firefox on this too. but as i've seen so far, wont be able to run most recent things on this comp till the end of semester :( so sad :(

---- this list is for current fedora releases. There is a list for fedora releases which have reached 'end of life'...it's called fedora-legacy- list. For a comprehensive listing of redhat sponsored lists, see:
https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/
Note that Fedora Core 1 & Fedora Core 2 have long since reached end-of- life and soon Fedora Core 3 will be added to that category.
You probably should consider upgrading to Fedora Core 4

Check out Thomas Chung's article, on building a firefox rpm for Fedora Core at; http://www.fedoranews.org/tchung/firefox Following his instructions should get you a usable rpm for your system ;-) Note, the article was originally written for FC1.

You're welcome. BTW, don't forget to read/follow instructions at, http://www.fedoranews.org/tchung/rpmbuild/ first, before building the firefox rpm. Also, gnome 2.12 & firefox 1.5 flat out rock on FreeBSD 6.0!!
Have a nice day!!
