Somebody posted a command that returns the version of KDE currently running. Now, I can't find it. Could someone please refresh my memory?
(I know, I can use KDE Help->About, and that's what I've been doing up to now, but that assumes that the help has been kept up to date with the latest upgrade.)
Thanks...

rpm -q kdebase is probably the most effective and most portable (KDE 3 and 4) method.

KDE3 runtime: kde-config --version
KDE4 runtime: kde4-config --version
-- Rex
here is what I got: [landon4@LMKIII ~]$ kde-config --version Qt: 3.3.8b KDE: 3.5.10-1.fc9 Fedora kde-config: 1.0 [landon4@LMKIII ~]$
and I am running KDE 4.1.2 as evidenced by clicking on help in a monitor command line window and then clicking on "about KDE"
Version 4.1.2 (KDE 4.1.2)
