Is Fedora 17 compatible with USB-3.0 ?
I thinks no problem, because i've been use Harddisk Portable (support USB-3) it's work very well.

I've been using a USB3 external backup drive with no problems since fedora 16 (which is around the time I got a new system that had USB3 ports in it).
Thanks for the info Tom.
I will be installing F17 on a friends Computer that has USB-3 ports on it and I wanted to be sure.
I would imagine that those 3.0 ports are backward compatible with USB-2 devices.
Yep, but you won't notice any speed improvement without a USB3 driver to plug into it (and they are a lot faster).
for speed transfer i don't know because my portable disk support USB-3 but my laptop don't support USB-3 (vey old laptop):D

You can plug any USB 1.1 or USB 2 device into a USB 3 port and it'll work...but at whatever speed the device is capable of.
USB 3 devices will work at USB 2 speeds. You won't get USB 3 speeds without a USB 3 driver for the port and I don't think any of the current drivers are USB 3. Apparently the drivers are there....

The eXtensible Host Controller Interface (xHCI) is standard for USB 3.0 "SuperSpeed" host controller hardware.
To compile this driver as a module, choose M here: the module will be called xhci-hcd.

Since there are many USB3 chipset manufacturer, why don't you download a live disc of Fedora and run that with an external USB3 storage device before install. If you have USB3 connectivity, you should get around 60-80 MBs. USB2 gets about ~20-30 MBs.

The Fedora 17 kernel is new enough to do USB 3.0 (XHCI) properly.

Didn't know that xhci was USB3. Nice to know.
