I am interested in fedora web-development
by PRABIN DATTA
I have a request to fedora web developers to add me as a member.
Thanks in advance.
Also,I like to add:
*if these things are already existing then I like to work in update process
of these for current version.*
my plain->
I like to develop few webpages which will contain step by step screen-shot
with proper explanation about fedora installation and other options during
fedora installation of the current version of that time..
Which will also contain issues like:
1> install fedora as a single OS in machine.
2> install fedora with Window's OS.
3> install fedora with Ubuntu.
4> install fedora with Ubuntu and window's OS.
Also, a short list of few applications with few words about them or links.
And help for few important configurations on the current version like
network config, httpd config, etc.
benefits->
I have many friends who are HOME users they dont know how to install fedora
they are using window as pirated and other are forced to buy the original.
They are buying OS it is not at all any issue of my this topic. But there
are many who like to use fedora or like to give it a try. They need a
common place to learn all these.
Also, few of them dont know what they are doing or which option can give
them optimum performace* which they want*.
like in fedora 13(current version) it is possible to install KDE or GNOME or
both Desktop types. A new user is using GNOME as it is default Desktop
during installation thou he like to use KDE more then GNOME and vice versa.
Thanks.
Have a Nice Day.

Hi, I worked a bit on the theme and I produced some patches (in attachment):
- added caption style for images (I basically copied from the default theme)
- fixed some links (you should test it because I didn't on fedora
infrastructure wordpress
- update the screenshot (I wrongly committed twice so we have two
patches but one is not used, sorry but is too long time I'm not using git)
Please give a check and let me know if is ok.
Thanks

www.fpo Redesign Mockup Thread
by Jef van Schendel
So, Máirín posted the latest mockups for the www.fpo website on her
blog [1], together with some additional header mockups [2]. I posted
the one mockup I had in the comments [3].
Of course we need a place to discuss them and let everyone post their
own mockups, ideas, wishes and complaints, which is what I wanted to
make this thread for. Hope we can start some good discussion here. :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As for my own feedback...
* The slideshow grey
I think the mockups are a little too much on the grey side. Where's
our awesome Fedora Blue?
In this mockup I've tried out some different backgrounds. Having the
F13 wallpaper as a background is a little crowded though, and of
course we'd have to change it with every release.
* The slideshow buttons
IMO they're a bit too... bulky? I think we only need either the
buttons or the arrows, both is a bit overkill. I've made the buttons a
bit simpler. By highlighting the current one, visitors can see which
one they're currently viewing. The other 3 of course provide a way to
move to the other slides.
* Screenshot
Having a screenshot is always good, but screenshots of OS's aren't
exactly the most exciting pieces of art. Can we make it a little
prettier? Here is something like what I've got in mind...
http://schendje.fedorapeople.org/fpo/fpoScreenshot.png
http://schendje.fedorapeople.org/fpo/fpoScreenshot.svg
A simple gradient or reflection (or even a light glow? way too cheesy
imo) can add a lot to the presentation. Also, I think we need all
those windows in the screenshot to show what you can do with Fedora,
right? Personally I think the "empty" screenshot looks better, but I'm
biased since I'm in love with F13's wallpaper. I understand if
Marketing wants to have more windows open in the shot. :)
* The grey gradient all the way at the top
I'm just wondering why it's there. Could you shed some light on this, Máirín? :)
Aaaanyways, these are just little things I wanted to point out right
away. I'll have a closer look at the layout and other stuff when I
have time this week.
Hope this provides something useful! By all means, discuss these to shreds! :)
Broken redirects
by Michael Price
While checking out the Broken redirects I noticed that the Category:Fedora
when searching under Categories the Fedora one has been deleted so should I
just delete Category:Fedora? Also I'm not really sure what to do with
Category:Usability because I can't even find it listed under Categories.
