Call for help from TLDP and a question.
by susmit shannigrahi
Hi list,
This _may be_ slightly off topic here. But as it is very much related
to Linux and many of us still consult LDP, I can not resist myself
from forwarding this to you. Please see the mail below.
Please help if you have time. The new URL is wiki.tldp.org.
BTW according to jdd , LDP used to be included as RPM in RedHat.
If yes, can we include them again if document licences permit?
Thanks.
Susmit

Hello,
I see that you work with Fedora.
I have two things to do with Fedora :-)
* do you know if the ldp HOWTOs are included in the fedora rpms? they
used to be in red Hat, but the last time I checked was... extremely
long time ago :-(
* could you relay to the fedora user's mailing list the need of help
for the LDP?
thanks
jdd

Announcing the Fedora Sugar Spin
by Rahul Sundaram
Hi,
OLPC Project uses a derivative of Fedora as the operating system for
it's XO laptops. One of the unique features of these laptops, is an
environment called Sugar developed as a collaboration between Red Hat
and other developers and now being maintained by Sugarlabs, an
independent non-profit organization. The Fedora Project has released a
new spin, a live CD with the Sugar environment by default and a number
of additional activities including sugar-browse based on XULRunner and
sugar-write based on Abiword. Furthermore, the Fedora liveusb-creator
software has been updated to include support for this spin. For people
developing the Sugar environment or those curious about it but don't
have an OLPC system, this live cd can be a handy way to dive in.

[1] Please use a Reply-All, that would get other list members (of the
fedora-india list) to have a chance of providing inputs
[2] Currently we are missing the following details:
[i] location of the event
[ii] URL of the event
[iii] the agenda of the event
[iv] 'Fedora' parts planned at the event
(a) which parts you'd be comfortable handling
(b) which bits you expect outside speakers for
[v] your contact details
[vi] expected audience for the event
Item # [iv] in the list above is a bit important to discuss because it
also allows us to check if other Ambassadors in Bangalore (I'm sure that
you have contacted them already) are ready to chip in and help you out.
Since this is a college fest, instead of handing out
media-by-the-handful it would be an interesting (pre-FOSS.IN ?) exercise
to check out how a LiveUSB station is managed.

Hi All,
As you all know, i have been working on reviving the fedora maps project
for some time and seem to have reached almost completion with the
current maps.
This is just to give you guys a heads-up on what has been done and ask
for suggestions.
So the maps are hosted on fedoraproject site at:
http://fedoraproject.org/maps/
I have also copied the image location and put them on the wiki so that
it has a common look and feel.
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Maps
I am currently mapping only MirrorManager for f7 to f9 and EL-4 & EL-5
and can easily extend my scripts to maps bittorrent and also cvs commits
if needed.

Sub: Please Extend Helping Hand to New Bee - Unable to install MT882 Modem for Dataone (BSNL) Braodband Connection
by Kamalendu Chakrabarty
Dear Sir,
I am a new bee. Recently I have default install from Fedora 9 CD.
I have an ADSL Broad Band Modem HUAWEI MT882 Supplied by my ISP BSNL
(Dataone) along with Broad Band Connection. The
Modem is working well with WindowsXP (USB).
But the CD that came with the Modem, contains Driver Package meant for
Linux-RHL8. As a result I could not Install the Modem.
Then I made changes in the "makefile" for linux-2.6.25-14 and again
tried to install. But it ended as "gcc: command not found"
As a new bee I got confused but in the Fedora CD I found rpm for gcc
and I installed it.
Still that I installation fails with a lot of error messages.
If any of fedora-india list member had installed MT882 and configured
for Dataone Broadband may please guide me in
detail since I may not be able to understand Technica Terms.
Helping Member may help me if you Would you please send me Driver
Package (MT882) for Fedora 9 along with
Installation Guide in a ZIP File. I am a new bee. Please extend your
