The idea is really great.. Im a college going student just entering
3rd semester in Computer sciences .. and am already looking for programmes and training to
add to my CV for a better job.. My college, Manipal Institute of technology, Manipal,
India, has just recently become a part of the Sun academic Initiative, which has some
perks.. Such an educational programme from Fedora would be more than a dream come true.. A
lot of us go through books and material but teaching yourself is not as efficient as a
mentor telling you what to do and helping you apply your knowledge practically.. Please
give this programme thought.. A few hours a week will be enough from the mentors and there
will be plenty of students who are interested and want to learn and contribute..
Having a mentor is a good idea. What is a first step is the Fedora
Project folks fixing up the areas wherein it seems that a communication
disjoint exists.
For example, in your case, what were the issues that you faced when you
wanted to do a project for Fedora ?
ps: you would like to fix the word wrap on your mail client :)
