Hi,
No agenda has been set for this month's meeting of Fedora Users Meet, held regularly on the last Saturday of every month, at Red Hat Bangalore.
So I propose that the meeting be *cancelled for this month* .
We need to come up with an agenda for July's meeting early enough for folks to be able to plan on attending the meeting. I also encourage everyone on this list to bring in proposals for meetings right through the year, as the venue and facilities have been made available in advance, for the last Saturday of every month.
If anyone feels that we need to meet this month for anything, even just a chat, I am still okay with it. :-)

My bad. By mistake, my mail did not make it to this mailing list. It went to the fedora-ambassadors' mailing list: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/ambassadors/2014-June/022540.html
So I propose that the meeting be *cancelled for this month* .
I agree for a physical meetup. However, we can do a small hands up meeting on IRC: #fedora-india on Freenode this Saturday, i.e., June 28, 2014, 11 AM.
Regards, rtnpro

That should be good. Better than not connecting at all this month. I am for it. :-)

Sorry, I got delayed on the way to office, and logged in only by 11:30. Ratnadeep and Sayan were available then, and we discussed on the formulation of agenda for future Fedora user meetings.

No, there were no plans for any classes. However, we are planning on having sessions and activities charted out for Fedora User Meetings through the year, so that folks can plan ahead to attend meetings.
Ratnadeep will be sending out a draft proposal on the agenda, and everyone can contribute to finalising the final form.

I am new to Fedora. Even after using Arch for over a year writing .spec or building rpm looks like a daunting task. It would be nice of you guys to host a how to write .spec file and how to do rpm packaging class over IRC.
Kushal Das is conducting dgplug http://dgplug.org/intro/ summer training[1] and I am sure a lot of folks from there are going to be interested.

Multiple "how to make an rpm" workshops have already been held in the past. Generally, we just walk through this wiki page:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_create_an_RPM_package
The problem here is that each package uses a different build system, and if upstream isn't following standards, you often need to patch the build project files.
I suggest you follow the wiki page and attempt to build your package. If you do get stuck, please head over to #fedora-india or #fedora-devel OR #fedora-join on Freenode and we'll help you out.

Sure. If you can collect a group of folks that would benefit from a workshop, we can look at hosting another one. If they are all dgplug folks, Kushal could take a quick one in person too - which will probably be more beneficial.
I'd taken one recently. Logs are here: http://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/fedora-classroom/2014-04-24/ros-rpm_irc_ses...
