NFS, SELinux and firewalls
by Tom Weniger
Greetings All,
I have installed FC6 on my home network and am enjoying the new
release. Tip of my fedora to the developers.. Job well done!
What is the status of using NFSv4 with SELinux and firewall enabled? I
have tried to get it going over my home network but to no avail
without disabling SELinux and the firewall. Is this problem strictly a
NFS issue? Has anyone been able to use NFS with SELinux and firewall
enabled?

Hi Anne
What is the output of postconf -n?
Also, you don't need a full stop before the wildcard below:
.* smtp:[smtp.mailbox.co.uk]
as the wildcard already refers to "all other destinations"

24-hour lockout
by Anne Wilson
A lockfile seems to have been create yesterday and not released - possibly due
to a crash. The message I see in a console is
gpg: waiting for lock (held by 6678 - probably dead) ...
There's no such lockfile in /var/lock. I can't see this lockfile clearing
itself, after all this time and a complete reboot, so how can I find it?
I've tried 'locate .lck' and 'locate .lock' but can't see anything likely.

Re: Running own mail server
by Todd Simi
Hi,
If you have a static IP, one of the things I've done
in the past is buy a second IP from the ISP. The are
usually only a dollar or two, and I set it up in my DNS
to point to the same machine, but set it up at the
registrar as a second DNS.

blank screen in gnome, works in kde and fluxbox
by starcycle@gmail.com
not sure what the problem is. i can hear gnome loading, the monitor
light stays on, and i see all the gnome stuff in ps ax. but the screen
just stays blank when it switches from the gdmgreeter. i tried fluxbox
and kde, and those work fine. i have a radeon 8500LE (R200) and i'm
using the xorg radeon driver "ati." i also tried the vesa driver, both
at multiple "safe" resolutions. anyone know what's wrong? this is
FC5, btw.
thanks,

Re: OT: Interesting news - what does this mean for RH?
by Randy Grimshaw
I wonder if there is a line in the sand between Windows and Vista, and
the burden of legacy support will fall to the linux community.
As far as Microsoft and Novell are concerned it is a win-win.

Well, I say "good". It's healthy to have competition.

You have found the bank of Larn.
I can explain it for you, but I can't understand it for you.
I speak only for myself, and I am unanimous in that!

I followed the suggestion from the bugzilla link
chcon system_u:object_r:textrel_shlib_t /usr/lib/libx264.so.54
and now mplayer is working all right, both as user and as root.

Getting yum to use RPMs from local disk
by Anoop Chandran
Hey Guys,
I had selected the "Customize later" option, while installing
FC6. Now I have the dumped the rpms to my disk and want yum
to use the rpms in local disk., rather than getting them from the
repositories.
For eg. yum groupinstall "development tools" should start picking
the rpms which I've dumped to the local disk.
I tried setting up a web server on local box and configring yum to use
it. however it wasn't entirely successful.
Can this be done? Is there an easier method (other than going to
online repositories) or am I missing any options of yum?

Lost kgpg
by Anne Wilson
I think this is since I updated earlier today, but I can't get kgpg to
run as user. It was fine last night, and there was a whole lot of kde
updates today. Any ideas, anyone?
