Right click in Nautalis to send by Bluetooth
by Jim Christiansen
I just got a new cell phone with bluetooth and can not get Nautalis to
recognize my working bluetooth connection. I can send files both ways to my
phone by:
gnome-obex-send /home/k/Desktop/filename ... no problem this way.
This works just fine but even with the Bluetooth file applet running down on
the taskbar nautalis doesn't seem to be able to talk to my bluetooth phone.
How do I get nautalis to send to bluetooth?
Thanks, Jim

Can FC5 Route/Work With IPv6 Addresses?
by Robert L Cochran
I might need to set up an FC5 box as a router. I see from the Netfilter
website that iptables can't currently handle IPv6 packets. Will it be able
to, at any time in the near future?
Thanks!

FC5 PPC confused by AppleRAID
by Jack Howarth
I noticed last night, when I attempted to boot the FC5 PPC installer
CD on my dual G5 with two SATA drives and a Firewire 800 external drive,
that anaconda is very confused the presence of AppleRAID partitions. I
was prompted repeated after selecting the language to "Ignore" or "Cancel"
because it claimed that the partition was unexpectedly terminated (or
such...I'll recheck the exact error message tonight). The Fedora developers
may want to configure a AppleRAID mirror on a set of drives and fix
anaconda so that it can at least ignore those drives rather than throwing
up obscure error messages.
Jack
ps The two SATA drives are configured with the AppleRAID mirror. I was
going to attempt to install FC5 on the Firewire drive (although I never
got far enough to determine if FC5 could handle the Firewire 800
interface connecting it).

GRUB Boot Menu
by Iwan Setyawan
Hi all,
I use mainly FC5, but I tried other distro's from time to time. Recently I
installed Open SUSE 10.1, and one thing that really caught my eyes is the
cool GRUB boot menu, which, IMHO looks much nicer than the one in FC5. Is it
possible to make/install a similar menu?
Thanks,
Iwan

Where to find libglitz-glx.so.1 & libglitz.so.1
by Gayal
i was installing xgl, and to proceed with
xorg-x11-server-Xgl-1.1.99.1-3.i386.rpm there are 2 dependencies asked prior
to installation.
libglitz-glx.so.1 is needed by xorg-x11-server-Xgl-1.1.99.1-3.i386
libglitz.so.1 is needed by xorg-x11-server-Xgl-1.1.99.1-3.i386
And i cant find the above. Only thing which is there is ;
glitz-glx-0.5.6-3.fc5.i386.rpm
glitz-0.5.6-3.fc5.i386.rpm
I ve done the installation according to
http://fedoraxgl.tuxfamily.org/index.php?title=Installation_en
So my conclusion is fedora manual cannot be followed all the time???
is it so??

Re: GRUB Boot Menu
by Iwan Setyawan
Hi,
> What about it looked better to pyu? What chnges do you want to make in
> the FC5 menu?
Two things that I think make SuSE's boot menu looks (this is the keyword,
here) cool:
- Position of the text (i.e., the position of the boot selection in the
middle of the screen)
- Visualization of the timeout (using an animated icon)
I find these 2 factors more visually appealing. Eye candy, for sure... but
oh, how sweet it is... :)

xgl on FC5 with ATI X700
by Gayal
i was installing xgl to my laptop. it has ATI X700 VGA.
i followed the following steps which is given in this site.
http://fedoraxgl.tuxfamily.org/index.php?title=Installation_en
Install Fedora Xgl Repository: # rpm -Uvh
http://fedoraxgl.tuxfamily.org/repository/fedora-xgl-repository-1.0-3.noa...
Import GPG Key # rpm --import /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-AL-CAPCOM
Install Xgl and Compiz packages:# yum --enablerepo=fedora-xgl install compiz
xorg-x11-server-Xgl---------------------------------------------
Result of this Command: Package xorg-x11-server-Xgl-1.1.99.1-3.i386.rpm is
not signed Installation Failed :(
May try cd /var/cache/yum/fedora-xgl/packages rpm -ivh * (actually may need
to rpm -ivh one by one...)
Just to get you by change in /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-xgl.repo gpgcheck=1 to
gpgcheck=0
Run the yum command above again.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
so exactly the above happend. so i yumed each package seperatly with -ivh.
But while installing xorg-x11-server-Xgl-1.1.99.1-3.i386.rpm the following
occurred.
[root@localhost packages]# rpm -ivh xorg-x11-server-Xgl-1.1.99.1-3.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
libglitz-glx.so.1 is needed by xorg-x11-server-Xgl-1.1.99.1-3.i386
libglitz.so.1 is needed by xorg-x11-server-Xgl-1.1.99.1-3.i386
when i google theres s no such package available. Instead wut i got
downloaded to my machine is
(by running this command # yum --enablerepo=fedora-xgl install compiz
xorg-x11-server-Xgl)
glitz-0.5.6-3.fc5.i386.rpm
glitz-glx-0.5.6-3.fc5.i386.rpm
libsvg-0.1.4-4.fc5.i386.rpm
libsvg-cairo-0.1.6-3.fc5.i386.rpm
------------------------
Any how i managed continue with the packages which got downloaded to my
machine.
now when i type
$ gnome-xgl-info
-----------------------------------------------------------
This is wut i should get...
This command must return, it's like that:
G ATI Technologies
1 kmod-nvidia is installed for the kernel release 1.2111_FC5
1 -accel glx:pbuffer -accel xv
Explanation the return of gnome-xgl-info:
- *First line is:*
CardStatus [CardName]
where CardStatus is: G(ood), B(ad), S(low), or U(nknown)
- *Second line is:*
3DStatus [Missing or installed Packages]
where 3DStatus is 0 or 1
- *Third line is:*
XglStatus [RecommendedOptions]
where XglStatus is 0 or 1 and RecommendedOptions is set if the
hardware is detected as compatible.
----------------------------------------------------------------
But the results shows this
cat: /etc/sysconfig/xgl/status: No such file or directory
G ATI Technologies
0 kmod-fglrx is not installed for the kernel release 1.2054_FC5
0 -accel glx:pbuffer -accel xv:pbuffer
Any idea how to proceed to the next stage from hear :(
