how uncover what start iptables?
by Franta Hanzlík
I have disabled (not masked) iptables.service on F17 box.
But occasionally are this services started. There isn't any
record about it in system logs. Is there some (systemd native)
manner how detect who start this service?
(maybe via inotify tools I'm able detect access to
"/etc/sysconfig/iptables", but this give no information about
accessing process)
Second question about iptables: Is there any replacement for
"service iptables panic" command from old gold cheerful non-systemd days?
Thank in advance, Franta Hanzlik

how 2 make LibreOffice the default app for RTF files?
by Fred Smith
Can't figure out how to get F17 to use LibreOffice Writer when opening a
RTF file,... It seems to want to use Calibre for that. :( The "Preferred
applications" item on the menu only offers a few programs, and LO isn't
one of 'em.
BTW, this is for the MATE desktop, though pretty much the same question
applies to XFCE or Gnome.
thanks!

MSMTP Problem [OT]
by Arthur Dent
Hello all,
Not really a Fedora problem, but the level of helpful knowledge here is
second to none :)
My fedora 17 box hosts my small family web-server. I am trying to get an
email contact form to work using php mail(). I have never had any
success with sendmail so I installed msmtp and changed php.ini to read:
sendmail_path = /bin/msmtp -t -C /etc/msmtprchttp
After much wrestling and checking of logs and fixing permissions and
selinux denials I have finally got it to the point that now the php
script gives a cheery "message sent" confirmation and this is in the
msmtp log:
Sep 09 11:10:33 host=smtp.blueyonder.co.uk tls=on auth=off from=noreply(a)mydomain.org recipients=mark(a)mydomain.org mailsize=1735 smtpstatus=250 smtpmsg='250 OK id=1TAeTJ-0004Xk-CG' exitcode=EX_OK
All seems good!
The message never arrives.
Could some kind soul point me to where I have screwed up please?
Thanks

Knode sync
by Timothy Murphy
Is there any way of synchronising Knode clients on different laptops,
so that the same posts are marked as read on different machines?
At present I keep a copy of ~/.kde/share/apps/knode/ on a server,
and copy this to whatever laptop I am using.
This works, but is not completely satisfactory.
Any suggestions or advice gratefully received.

Skype 4 i Fedora 17
by Jan Litwiński
J have laptop Lenovo G550 with Intel Celeron 1.8.GHz processor, 2 MB RAM
and Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family)
HD Audio Controller (rev 03).
I waned t to use Fedora but Skype completely freezes my desktop (it was
KDE), helped only use power off button.
I think problem is related with pulseaudio.
In openSUSE 12.1 everything is ok, but in openSUSE 12.2 is the same
problem.
Has anybody have the same problem?
greetings
