Google Chrome speckled videos - what's the cure.
by Max Pyziur
Videos are presented correctly in both Firefox and mplayer. However, they
are speckled in my installations of google-chrome.
Could someone please offer a remedy?
Much thanks,

Re: systemd -- mysqld.service (solved)
by Gary Artim
adding this to /etc/systemd/system/ fixed the issue with waiting for
NFS directory:
[root]# cat /etc/systemd/system/mysqld.service
# "/etc/systemd/system/mysqld.service" containing:
.include /lib/systemd/system/mysqld.service
[Unit]
Description=MySQL database server
After=syslog.target
After=network.target
RequiresMountsFor=/my

Intel Atom detecting a second monitor that doesn't exist.
by Kevin Daly
When booting on an Intel Atom machine I have, xorg reports it detects 2
monitors, but I only have one monitor connected.
The problem is that the login screen seems to be on the second "Non
existent" monitor. So the machine is completely unusable.
The motherboard only has one monitor output.
This is with the intel i915 driver

f18 keyboard problems
by Mike Wright
Hi all,
I'm in runlevel 5 on f18 with xfce.
Zoom key combos (<ctrl><shift><+>,<ctrl><->) no longer work correctly.
When freshly installed they did.
Specifically:
terminal:
<ctrl><shift><+> prints a "+"; it should increase font-size
<ctrl><-> seems to edit the current line: sometimes it erases all
of it, at others, parts of it at a time; should decrease
font-size
internet apps (tbird,firefox):
<ctrl><shift><+> increase font size
<ctrl><-> does nothing
Keyboard is set to generic 105, US English. I've gone through
Admin->Keyboard and System->Keyboard and reset all. /usr/bin/showkey
shows correct keys and actions.
Reboot has no effect.
Not sure how to debug this.
Anyone seen this before? Have any idea how to fix it?
Thanks,
Mike Wright

Creating an rpm from scratch
by Bill Davidsen
I am happy to say the last rpm I had to create was back during 2.5 development
testing days. Now I would find it convenient to roll another, and I'm hoping
there's by now a better tools to help create an rpm from scratch, something more
intuitive than the man page in one window and vi in the other.
Is there?
