akmod-nvidia for f23 when?
by Tom Horsley
Anyone know when an akmod-nvidia for f23 will show up on
rpmfusion? With a maxwell card, I can't get anything
but a blank screen without the binary nvidia driver
(I keep hoping nvidia and nouveau will work something
out with the firmware downloads, but nouveau still
doesn't work).

Fedora 23 UEFI installation problem
by debit2005@gmail.com
Dear friends,
Today I did UEFI-native installation of Fedora 23 in my Lenovo E530 laptop.
After the successful installation when I booted the system, nothing was
coming after the Grub screen and the system was hung.
It was showing the below error on the screen before the grub screen came
System BootOrder not found. Initializing defaults. Creating boot enty
"Boot003B" with label "Fedora" for file "\EFI\fedora\shim.efi"
More surprisingly the system was not booting even with the usb live fedora
23 media in UEFI mode. But when I changed the mode from UEFI to Leagcy
mode, the live media was booting.
During the installation, there was no problemat all.
Please suggest me something if you have faced the similar kind of problem.
Am I doing anything wong?

rpmbuild error on F23
by Ranjan Maitra
Hi,
I have been having an error on F23 with rpmbuild while building my personal rpms.
Here is the error I have been having. (aNu is a terminal emulator program that I have modified from an existing source file, ie evilvte.)
Processing files: aNu-debuginfo-0.1-1.fc23.x86_64
error: Empty %files file /home/maitra/rpmbuild/BUILD/aNu-0.1/debugfiles.list
RPM build errors:
Empty %files file /home/maitra/rpmbuild/BUILD/aNu-0.1/debugfiles.list
I guess the question is: what has changed from F22 to F23 which causes these errors. Here is the spec file:
Here is the files section:
%files
%defattr(-,root,root,-)
%config(noreplace) /usr/share/icons
/usr/share/applications
/usr/share/man/
/usr/share/pixmaps
/usr/bin/showvte
/usr/bin/aNu
%doc GPL INSTALL AUTHORS CHANGES
And I have placed the entire spec file at:
$ fpaste aNu.spec
Uploading (2.1KiB)...
WARNING: Could not shorten URL
http://paste.fedoraproject.org/286698/44661012
Any suggestions on what I should do.
Many thanks and best wishes,
Ranjan

Re: Upgrading from fedora 22 to fedora 23
by Justin W. Flory
Hi Joe,
The fedup command is no longer a functional way to upgrade from Fedora
22 to Fedora 23. Did you use the DNF system-upgrade plugin that was
detailed in the article? If so, what commands did you run for your upgrade?
Cheers,
------------

Hi Joe,
I am also including my reply on the users mailing list, as there's a few
others here who may be able to help you as well. :)
Could you provide more information about the steps you took when
upgrading your system, such as what commands and with what flags you
ran? It'll help us be able to figure out what happened if we know all of
the steps you took.
Additionally, if you type `uname -a` in a command line, what is the output?
Thanks!
Cheers,

Buffering problems with rhythmbox in fed 23
by AV
I sometimes listen to online radio using rhythmbox.
In all previous fedora/gnome editions here were hardly any
problems. Occasionally there was a hiccup due to buffering
but only after hours and play would resume after a few seconds.
Now, fedora 23, gnome 3.18 and rhythmbox 3.2.1, it has become
impossible to listen to any online radio. After about 2-4 minutes
rhythmbox shows 'continuous' buffering activity and play almost
never resumes. If it does resume it breaks off again almost
immediately.
As this could be caused by almost anything I don't know where
to look for a solution. Anybody any ideas?
I have not searched bugzilla yet.

Saving current session does not work
by JD
I used gnome-save-session, logged out and logged back in.
My previous session (5 apps, each with multiple windows in
several different workspaces) we not restored.
So, since I am a mate DT user, I tried mate-session-save
and logged out and back in. Still, my session was not restored.
These are all the mate packages I have installed.
Please let me know if I am missing the required package.

password-less ssh in F23
by Ranjan Maitra
A second machine is now failing to ssh in without a password only after a dnf system-upgrade --releasever=23. The machines being ssh-ed into are both on Fedora 22 (fully updated). But the machines that are ssh-ing in are on Fedora 23 (updated via dnf).
Is anyone else having this issue?
I posted the output of ssh -vvv earlier this morning but please let me know if additional information is needed to help me troubleshoot the problem.
Many thanks again!
Ranjan
