I have Gnome 44.4 and the Windowing System is Wayland
In Settings -> Power I have
Dim Screen is enabled
Screen Blank set to 5 minutes
Automatic Power Saver is enabled
Automatic Suspend is set to When on battery power
Seems fairly self-explanatory. Just change what you want e.g. you'll
need to use a password after Screen Blank, but not after Dim Screen.
Just experiment to find what suits you.
