My present ATI Rage is a PCI, AGP with 128 MB of memory.
If you can change to AGP, do. Others have suggested what they consider
reasonable price cards capable of doing compiz etc. I don't need it, so I
couldn't comment on that. Nor do I need 3D at all, so I don't bother with
the proprietary drivers. It's all a matter of deciding what matters to you
and how much you are prepared to spend to get it.
