No, I made a mistake. When you run blkid on a WinXP partition you get
very different looking UUID then on a Linux partition. Once I found that
out all was cleare except for the question:
How would find out what the UUID means? It looks like random garbage.
It *is* random garbage, that's the point. The only property you can rely
on is that it's almost certainly different from all the others out
there, so the chances of a collision are tiny.
