if that is a store bought dvd, then you probably need libdvdcss package
- the legality of which, at least in the US is probably questionable but
if I recall correctly, that package is available from livna.
F11 is pretty much dead btw
Craig
This is what I really do not get about copyrights.
I go to the store and buy a DVD movie.
I do not have a DVD player but a computer.
So I can't watch the movie without libdvdcss
In the states that would be considered illegal even though I did not rip
or reproduce in any way.
On the note of ripping..... playing a dvd from the DVD deck in my
computer means the motor of the dvd recorder reader will run constant
for 2 hours plus.
These motors can't take that kind of stress for very long.
So the best option is to rip it and place it on a Hard drive which is
more suited for long extended motor usage. By doing that I have broken
the law and could be prosecuted.
Even though I own the original.
When I buy a game it's a given that the game will be placed on a HD and
yet the very same copyright laws are broken as soon as I backup the cd
or dvd game on HD
What a confusing situation.
