Well in my defence I meant that we had no laptops here with serial ports
newer than 5 years old. Not that there weren't any, just that we didn't
have them. Sorry for the confusion.

there's still a demand for them because of various serial devices such
as routers/switches/etc.
I would expect that this is a need that will continually be filled by
some for quite some time.
