systemd has the ability to register and track processes that want to
inhibit system shutdown and sleep. See the developer documentation
here for more details on how it works:

Looking at the source of qbittorrent, it registers an inhibition for
sleep/shutdown. Run 'systemd-inhibit --list' to see when its running.
On further examination, I don't think that's it. For one thing, the
inhibit locks apply to hibernation, suspension and shutdown, but not to
logout. And for another, running 'systemd-inhibit --list' doesn't show
qBittorrent on the list.
