Just what I was looking for, however what format is the result?
fedora-release-2-4
Is that FC2 or FC4? I'm assuming FC2.
Sorry, but it's been so long since I touched this.

Hi Graham. I'm on FC2 at the moment, and rpm -q fedora-release gives me the
same (fedora-release-2-4), which doesn't make a lot of sense . If you look
in /etc/fedora-release , or /etc/redhat-release, you will see a number. for
FC2 obviously that is a "2" .
Nigel.
