Summary SELinux is preventing the samba daemon
Thanks to everyone's help I'm now past that problem and have managed to
get a share working to my RISC OS machine but not Windows XP which refuses
ro connect. I need to read loads on samba to find out why. I suspect it is
to do with authenticating users.

If you can't see the star icon, look in your menus for
setroubleshoot
and that should open the window I'm talking about...
