That's the modern default, but there's no reason you need to leave it
that way. The AllowRootLogin line in kdmrc is what controls it.
From point of security and system integrity (not risking system damage
by faulty actions) there is a very good reason to not graphically login
into X as root. The tasks which need root privileges can easily be
achieved by "su -" or "sudo".
