I'm experiencing the same behavior... kcmshell k3bsetup2 dies with the
same error message. I downloaded k3b 0.11.1 from the k3b web site and
compiled it myself.
It seems to me, that you let k3b/k3bsetup under gnome. I was
told, that
kdelibs are sufficiant to run k3bsetup. But finally it worked, when i
installed the whole kde and runned k3bsetup under kde itself. I know,
this costs much of diskspace...
