stupid spamassassin tricks
by Craig White
slugging through an awkward issue with spamassassin on my home server.
I am using fetchmail to get mail from my ISP - who in essence, has
already accepted delivery.
I have an email in my box which fetchmail keeps retrieving and
spamassassin is rejecting it - which is kind of an endless loop.
Specifically, I am running spamassassin & spamass-milter (milter via
sendmail).
I currently have the following options to spamd set...
# cat /etc/sysconfig/spamassassin
SPAMDOPTIONS="-d -c -a -m5 -H -L -x -u smmsp"
hoping that the '-L' option would serve the purpose...it hasn't
Any suggestions? Right now, it is only 1 email but these things have a
way of snowballing.
TIA

FC3, Apache and SELinux (fwd)
by Poohba
I don't know where the problem lies. I am unable to get to anything other than
DocumentRoot. If I change document root than I can get to it unless I try to
change it to /mnt/Videos or /mnt/Music which are partitions within the system,
not network shares. I get 404 errors whenever trying to open any of the alias
other than /icons/.
# service httpd restart
Stopping httpd: [ OK ]
Starting httpd: Syntax error on line 267 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:
DocumentRoot must be a directory
[FAILED]
If I set DocumentRoot to /home/user/public_html it works but that is the only
way it will work on a users dir.

James :
I think that I use a "generic" driver because the name of the driver seems to be "none or built-in" : perhaps this generic (?) driver is only for "cd-reader-only" ???
By the way, the name of my external USB 2.0 cd-rw is "Lacie Slimtype Combo LSC-24082 K" which seems to be similar to http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=10392
and Lacie does not offer any linux-driver support of course ... .

USB HD w/2 partition will mount, but not at boot
by Rob Rosenthal
Greetings all!
Everything I've seen on this problem has to do with pen drives and the
like, but my problem is with my external USB hard drive. I'm running
FC2 on an HP zt1175 laptop. The USB drive has two vfat partitions
detected as sda1 and sda2. I added the following entries into my
/etc/fstab file:
/dev/sda1 /mnt/fat1 vfat auto,users,umask=0 0 0
/dev/sda2 /mnt/fat2 vfat auto,users,umask=0 0 0
When my system boots, I get an error message for each partition stating
that it "is not a vaild block device." However, I can mount them both
by entering the shell and doing the following:
sudo mount -a
I have also tried the following lines in fstab, but this gave me the
same exact results:
/dev/sda1 /mnt/fat1 auto
auto,rw,uid=0,gid=501,showexec,quiet,fmask=117,dmask=007 0 0
/dev/sda2 /mnt/fat2 auto
auto,rw,uid=0,gid=501,showexec,quiet,fmask=117,dmask=007 0 0
Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

FC3 - fglrx - BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation) when playing a HD film.
by Gabriel Labelle
Hello,
I have FC3 installed and an ATI radeon 9600 PRO 256MB.
I've downloaded and installed latest ATI drivers from
http://www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/fglrx_6_8_0-8.8.25-1.i386.rpm
Everything is fine but I try to play some High Definition films I got
from http://www.hd-channel.com/index.html?/programme.html using totem or
mplayer I get the following errors.
totem :
External func OLEAUT32.dll:8
DMO dll supports VO Optimizations 0 1
DMO dll might use previous sample when requested
GetOutput r=0x0 size:2764800 align:1
StreamCount r=0x0 1 1
Decoder supports the following YUV formats: YV12 YUY2 UYVY YVYU
Decoder is capable of YUV output (flags 0x1b)
External func OLEAUT32.dll:7
External func OLEAUT32.dll:8
GetOutput r=0x0 size:24576 align:1
StreamCount r=0x0 1 1
The program 'totem' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
(Details: serial 81 error_code 11 request_code 139 minor_code 19)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error()
function.)
mplayer :
Building audio filter chain for 48000Hz/2ch/16bit ->
48000Hz/2ch/16bit...
Starting playback...
X11 error: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)?,?% 0 0
MPlayer interrupted by signal 6 in module: vo_check_events
- MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen.
It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We
can't and
won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a
possible bug.

What could be the problem since I don't have this problem with divx
files and DVD movies? Find attached my xorg.conf file.

Configuring Address Book - howto implement link to openldap
by Chris Jones
I posted this question on the OOo users list yesterday evening, and so
far have had no response. I wonder if anyone here can give me some clue
as to what I should do.
I am trying to configure an address book datasource using openldap. When
I run the wizard in Write, it comes up with the following error:
"A driver is not registered for the URL sdbc:address:ldap." Can anyone
tell me what this means and how I can get this feature implemented?
I am running OpenOffice on Fedora Core 3 (OOo v1.1.3). I have my
openldap address book set up with a sample of addresses and now want to
set this up in OOo.
