Error with updating the system

Dear All I get the following error when I run the command 'yum update': Resolving Dependencies --> Populating transaction set with selected packages. Please wait. ---> Package mjpegtools.i386 0:1.8.0-0.lvn.1.4 set to be updated --> Running transaction check --> Processing Dependency: libmjpegutils-1.7.so.0 for package: transcode --> Finished Dependency Resolution Error: Missing Dependency: libmjpegutils-1.7.so.0 is needed by package transcode Any ideas? AVI to DV format how?

How is it possible to convert avi files to dv files in order to be able to edit the video with kino? I am using Konverter and ffmpeg and I 've also tried mencoder but I can't seem to find a correct way to convert my avi files to dv. Is there any special command that could enable me to do so or is there a another application capable of doing this either graphically or at teh command line? Thanks in advance. Mirco

Hi, I am running a java application which expects the sun jre to sucessfully execute itself. I have these rpms from default installation: 1} java-1.4.2-gcj-compat-src-1.4.2.0-40jpp_31rh.FC4.1 2} java-1.4.2-gcj-compat-devel-1.4.2.0-40jpp_31rh.FC4.1 3} gcc-java-4.0.1-4.fc4 Do I need these and how do I circumvent these. clean out /tmp?

Hi, Is there a way to keeping my /tmp's cleaned out in FC? I had what I thought was the perfect answer to keeping my /tmp's trim and in shape by using cron scripts - but, it appears to apply to suse only? (See bellow.) Vague NFS problems

I am having some odd problems on an all-FC4 set of systems which I'm tempted to attribute to NFS. 1. Attempts to compile a large package stored on an NFS-mounted home directory threw gcc errrors which were clearly due to the file being corrupted when read from the server: odd unprintable characters in the error message which were not in the original file, for example. 2. I have a local yum archive mounted via NFS, and after doing the equivalent of the following via a script: cp new-package.rpm /my-local-archive createrepo my-local-archive yum install new-package yum complains that the package fails its checksum test. A second, immediate, manual "yum install new-package" works fine. There's nothing definite or reproducible enough here to warrant a bugzilla entry, but has anyone seen anything like this before?

[FC4] Java

Trying to get Java installed for firefox. Following the excellent instructions at: http://fedoranews.org/mediawiki/index.php/JPackage_Java_for_FC4 Everything goes fine down until the point where you " Download jdk-1_5_0_04-linux-i586.bin". Update 4 does not seem to be available any more. It's now at update 5. So I downloaded update 5. Now when I go to "Download java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0.04-1jpp.nosrc.rpm from JPackage". I don't seem to find the corresponding updated file: "java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0.05-1jpp.nosrc.rpm" Is there a way around this? A new release from JPackage? Thanks, Mike

Mail server on FC4

Hi I'm trying to setup mail server on FC4, I was suggested to us the following tools: - postfix as MTA, - cyrus-imap as IMAP server, - openldap for authentication of virtual mail accounts, Any one succeeded with such configuration ? Do you know of any HOWTO's covering the topic ?
