FC4 Postfix auth'ing
by Stuart Murray-Smith
Hi list
Which file does Postfix 2.2.2 auth lookup to relay (SMTP) email?
I'm trying to avoid creating system accounts.

If you have a video card with TV output, (rca or s-video plug)
on the card, you can run that to a VCR or video capture
device on another machine. I had wanted to use the images
for some of the Linux screen savers as motion backdrops
on video menu's and did exactly that. Worked fine.

MDF File Moutning[Scanned]
by Chris Bradford
Hi guys,
Is there an easy way to mount Alcohol .mdf files in the same way as
iso9660 files?
I've tried using mdf2iso but it fails to mount the new iso file, under
'dmesg | tail' I get:
hfs: unable to find HFS+ superblock
Unable to identify CD-ROM format.
Thanks in advance,
-Chris

Anyway, PCI problem (+)
by SERGIE
===
PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 3 of device 0000:00:00.0
===
This is really harmless but it's been sent out to STDERR on boot and not many
people would like that. Anyway, the device 0000:00:00.0 is form lspci looks
like
00:00.0 Host bridge: ATI Technologies Inc Unknown device 5a33 (rev 01)
Device and Vendors of this record are "RC410 Northbridge: Radeon Xpress 200"
(instead of "Unknown device 5a33 (rev 01)")
any ideas?

AW: Re: Changing IP address on Fedora 4
by Joe Ventker
First, check iptables (iptables -L), if there is anything blocked, then use tcpdump (tcpdump -X -i eth0) to see, what request reaches your server.

AW: Changing IP address on Fedora 4

Are you using the "Listen"-parameter in the httpd.conf?

Postfix, Dovecot && FQUNs
by Stuart Murray-Smith
Hi list
I've configured an in-house email server as per:
http://www.howtoforge.com/linux_postfix_virtual_hosting_2
where: the TLA FQUN == fully qualified user name
POP3 successfully auth's by looking up /etc/dovecot/passwd as per line
on webpage:
"25 auth_passdb = passwd-file /etc/dovecot/passwd"
which is in the form of:
[FQUN]:[shadow_password]
Problem is, Postfix by FC default standard doesn't point to this auth
mechanism to relay outgoing email. I've Googled, and there seems to be
a myriad ways of aligning these auth mechanisms.
If someone could please advise a most-preferred way :-)
Thanks in advance,
Stu@

Mozilla text artifacts with nVidia Geforce 6200TC and xorg 'nv' driver
by Mostafa Afgani
Dear all,
Is there anyone else noticing some redraw/refresh problems with
mozilla firefox/thunderbird and the XOrg 'nv' driver? Basically, the
cursor leaves a trail wherever is passes through. It is not possible
to include a screenshot since the trails disappear the moment I hit
'PintScr'. Here's a photo using a camera:
http://img246.imageshack.us/my.php?image=trailscr4.jpg
These trails do not appear anywhere else(gedit, gnome-terminal, kate).
They are also absent from the mozilla products if 'vesa' is used
instead. I have tried disabling Pango but that did not help.
I suppose a bug report against xorg-x11-drv-nv is in order?
