Something simple re: a new partition under lvm.
by Bill Case
Hi;
There used to be a gui for lvm commands. It seems to have disappeared.
I have browsed the man pages. It seems to involve more risk and
learning than I want at the moment.
What I want to do is simple. I have a freshly installed Fedor 19 on a
500 Gig drive. Anaconda install lvm. I want to add a partition were I
can safely store my routine backups. I would think that 50 Gig would be
more than enough room. I am used to using parted, or gparted, but
parted doesn't configure lvm, I understand. (The more I read the less
sure I am of that,)
Were on the drive is the best place to put such a partition. I suspect
it doesn't matter. The last 50 gigs seems appropriate. So under lvm
how do I reconfigure my drive to have this extra partition.

AMD
by Richard Vickery
Hi Gang,
In considering a new computer, one of those under consideration is an
AMD chip with Windoze; the salesman suggested that other customers
have said that Linux has issues with AMD. Do we have issues with this
chip? Since I haven't read anything at least in a long time I have the
opinion that it has been solved. Am I wrong? I ended up saving my
money because of his concern.
Thanks.

Canadian Spell Check & English (Canadian) language
by Bill Case
Hi.
Having a problem setting up Fedora to find and installing a dictionary
for Canadian English.
I would like to work with an English(US) keyboard. An English(US or
Canadian) format, but want to spellcheck for English(Can). I have
searched and googled with no luck.
The American dictionary is used by programs that I have like LibreOffice
and Evolution. I would like to be able to turn on a Canadian spell
check. However, I have configured Firefox to spellcheck. When I use
Facebook comments no spellchecking even in American English in the
comments takes place.
All suggestions greatly received.

LibreOfficeDraw question
by Joachim Backes
Hi LO experts,
I'm using LO-4.1.0.4-6.fc19 in F19, and I have problems with tables
inside a draw document. Searching the forums gave me no answer, so my
question here:
I want to use tabstops in a cell of a table in a draw document: Using
the tab key or the CtrlTab key combination will jump to the next cell,
but no tabstop will be inserted. Anybody has a solution for my question?
Kind regards
Joachim Backes

And yes, I know I can use the Tor bundle, but I find I always forget to
and want to use this as a standard service instead. I had it running on
another laptop on Ubuntu.
