Exactly what I wrote after the <- above, the '?' mark above is a typo,
it needs to be a '/' as there is no such disk label as a '?' that I
know of.
In other words, make that line read:
kernel /bzImage-2.4.20-6new ro root=LABEL=/
and it should work.
It is correct the LABEL=? needs to be corrected but it will not
work
unless the root= clause references the same device dewsignation as the
fstab does. LABEL=/ does not equal /dev/hda2
