That is because ntfs-3g had been installed previosuly. Please don't get
involved in the name calling.

Note that Karl may be simply laboring under a misconception. The record
may not be in yum.log. Also check ~root/install.log. In my case, it
was installed when I set up the system, not via yum:
[root@bigdog ~]# grep ntfs install.log*
install.log:Installing ntfsprogs - 1.13.1-3.fc6.x86_64
install.log:Installing ntfsprogs - 1.13.1-3.fc6.i386
install.log:Installing ntfs-3g - 2:1.516-1.fc7.x86_64 <<<----
install.log:Installing ntfs-3g - 2:1.516-1.fc7.i386 <<<----
Yes, it's an Opteron and yes, it has 32-bit code on it as well as
64-bit.
