Multi Track Recording on fedora 4;
by Mirco Scara
Can anyone suggest the name of an application suitable for fedora for
recording voice tracks over mp3 or midi?
Thanks

tcpdchk doc question
by Jude DaShiell
why is the only documentation for this in japanese? The stuff is in the
ja/man8/ section of the man pages and which does not turn up an
executable.

tcp_wrappers problem I don't know if this is default or not. When I
installed this system I did a server install with everything chosen to be
installed. What I don't find even as root on this system is the program
tcpdchk and since that's used to check out a network interface for
problems and I know I didn't delete it I'm wondering if a fedora core
install even puts that program on the system.

Probably no logs. Are you saying that the machine is instantly
unusable? That is really odd. Maybe you should leave top running all
the time?

cdrtools damage
by Michael Hennebry
What did Redhat and SuSe do to cdrtools?
Schilling seems really unhappy about it.
If I wanted to take his suggestion and use the real thing,
how would I do it? Is following his directions sufficient?
What would it break?

Wireless suggestion - tired of madwifi
by Bill Johnson
I recently posted about problems I was having with Madwifi. It was a
horrible struggle to set it up under FC1, and now I'm going nuts again
after installing FC3. I am not particularly happy with an 802.11A
network anyway. My working distance from the access point is only a few
feet.
So, I'm thinking of canning the current setup and going to an 802.11B or
G setup.
My question for the list - is there a PCMCIA 802.11B or G card that will
work with Fedora Core RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX? In other words, I want to
just plug it in and configure it using the built in network
configuration tools of fedora, with out having to compile or make or any
other such stuff. I used to enjoy that stuff, and actually make my
living doing it, but just simply don't have time for it right now. I
need a working laptop now.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

re: FC4 torrent
by Jon Shorie
Does anybody know when the torrent will be available for FC4
With 2 and 3 the torrent was released 3 or 4 days before the general release
day. I know that the general release day is supposed to be June 6, but I
would like to use the torrent this weekend to download it.

how to adjust fan speed?
by olga@urbantimes.net
Hi,
I just installed Linux on a former NT box. When it had NT, after boot up
it used to either slow down or shut down the fan, and there was almost
no noise. However, after I installed Linux, the noise persists and it's
really loud. How do I adjust the fan speed? Thank you.
