P2020 (or PPC support ) for 2.6.32+ kernel in Fedora
by Abhay Vikash
Hi ,
>From the web , I learnt that ,the latest Fedora release(
http://ftp.riken.jp/Linux/fedora/releases/) which has active supports of
PPC architecture from Fedora release engineering team is Fedora12 which is
based on Linux kernel 2.6.31.5-127 .
For the later version of Fedora (13 and above ..) which are based on higher
version of Linux kernel, Fedora release engineering team no longer manages
PPC releases.
We want to use Fedora 13 (so that we can have Linux 2.6.32+) , can we get
the stable PPC support in this ?

Help with NetworkManager
by j.e.aneiros
Hi,
I hope this is the right place for posting this question.
I'm trying to perform an installation using kickstart and I having a hard
time trying to disable NetworkManager during the time previous to the real
installation, it says it is trying to configure eth0.
I'm using a CDROM based installation with a kickstart file on a USB memory.
The line I'm typing for the kernel is as follows:
linux ks=hd:sdb1:/ks.cfg
I also tried
linux ks=hd:sdb1:/ks.cfg nonet noipv6
But still getting the timeout popup message.
I don't want any human intervention during the install, besides putting the
CD in and taking it out.
I need to have the network configured to access the machine via ssh after
the reboot. All this is intended for remote install purposes in several
machines.
Any suggestion will be of help.
Thanks in advance.

firefox and gnome 3
by H Xu
When firefox is running, there is one more icon in the task bar, which
contains 3 gears, but other applications don't have this problem. I
don't know that whether this is a packaging problem on Fedora or it's a
problem come from Mozilla? Thanks.

Samsung Genio photos not uploadable on F14
by Dave Mitchell
I have a Samsumg B5310 phone, and under F13, connecting it with a USB
cable caused gphoto to be launched, which then allowed me to transfer
photos from the phone to my laptop.
Sometime during the last two months I have lost that ability; most
likely when I upgraded from F13 to F14. Now, gphoto is no longer launched
when I plug the phone in, and when launched manually, gphoto doesn't
"see" the phone: i.e. "import from removable device" doesn't list any
devices.
Note that this phone doesn't (and didn't) appear as a mass storage device.
Here is the content of /var/log/messages, before and after, if its of any

FC14, sleeping forever
by Tod Thomas
I've got a virtual FC14 image running under virtual box on a win7 laptop.
Something hung it up yesterday and I had to hard boot the image. Now when
I try and restart it progresses to a point of almost completing and stops
with the message "No root device found. Boot has failed, sleeping forever.
I have a feeling I've hosed my boot partition or I've somehow confused
grub. Has anybody run into this that might have a quick solution? I've
only got the virtualbox image to work with, no snapshots or backups :(
Thanks - Tod

How To Resize/Convert a BTRFS-LUKS partition?
by Manuel Escudero
it's official:
Lately, I've been having a lot of Performance issues because of BTRFS
(Specially when running VM's) so I was wondering if theres a way to Shrink
an encrypted (Crypto-Luks) BTRFS partition in order to create a new Ext4 one
to store my VM's...
In case there's not, I'm interested in knowing how to convert a BTRFS
partition
to Ext4 without loosing any data, the thing is, I want to improve my
experience
with F15 and BTRFS in order to keep the system the way it is now without
having to reinstall,
Can Someone Help?

access after reboot.
