Update GTK+ Fonts, Etc (For KDE)
by Richard Heck
Hi,
Just upgraded to F15, and all seems well...except the menu font in GTK
apps (e.g., Thunderbird) is too small. I can't seem to find how to
change this. I run under KDE, and seem to recall that there are (or
were) ways to do this, nonetheless.
Sorry if this has been asked before. Google did not lead to anything
helpful.

libpng14-config (F15)
by Ranjan Maitra
Hi,
I am on an x86_64 system and am compiling something that is looking for
libpng14-config in (/usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbin:/sbin)
Looking around, I get:
sudo yum provides */libpng14-config
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit, remove-
: with-leaves

Is this all right, or a sort of harmless "bug"? Why should the file be
installed in something called i686-* etc etc...?
I am running an up-to-date F15.
Many thanks and best wishes,
Ranjan

NetworkManager applet: force connection list refresh
by Pedro Francisco
Is there anyway to force the NetworkManager applet to refresh its list?
Everytime I plug-in my 3G dongle (k3805-z) I have to either go to
nm-connection-editor and toggle the option "Connection available for every
user" or restart gnome-shell (ALT+F2, r) so the connection for the 3G dongle
appears...
Any ideas?

Canon PIXMA MG5320 all-in-one on linux?
by Tom Horsley
I'm looking for a replacement to my HP all-in-one that just
died. The two features I need the most are printing CD/DVD
media and scanning. I'm looking at the Canon PIXMA MG5320
and wondering if it works with sane and cups. Anyone happen
to know?
I suppose if I had to, I could operate it from a windows
virtual machine since it is a network device.

systems partitions on /mnt
by Javier Perez
Hi
I have been googling but could not find anything useful yet.
I am installing a new system.(FC15) from scratch.
I created separate / , /boot , /var , /home partitions, taking into
consideration that I had a large disk.
I noticed that /mnt has boot, var and home directories which are not
pointing at anything
I do not remember having those on my old system (Fedora 14)
Those directories would be created at their normal positions on the file
tree.
Currently, they are at their right positions working fine, but I find it
weird to have directory stubs for them on /mnt.
Is it safe to erase the stubs?

Fedora 14 : perl-Config-Std - i386 available but not x86_64 ??
by Philip Rhoades
People,
I need this package for a LedgerSMB install but the 64bit version is
missing - why is this?:
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Package: ledgersmb-1.3.0_rc1-1.noarch
(/ledgersmb-1.3.0_rc1-1.noarch)
Requires: perl-Config-Std >= 0.0.4
"yum list" confirms that package does not exist (Fedora 14 x86_64).
It exists for i386. Why would it have been removed for x86_64 ?
Thanks,
Phil.

F15 slow tooltip and dialogs
by Frederick N. Brier
I made side reference to this issue in another post. When I upgraded
from F14 to F15 the tool tips and some dialogs became very slow. If
this is not the case for most people, is it possibly a side-effect of
doing an upgrade vs a clean install? Most everything else is okay.
Running XFCE instead of Gnome3 is snappier, but the smart code
completion tooltip/dialogs and Chrome's bookmark dialog are still
painfully slow. Thank you.
