Is printing a desktop issue?

Printing in FC3 is in considerable worse state than in FC1.
Eggcups is well named because it is as fragile as eggs... How does one
cancel a print job. Right click cancel = application crash.
A new "feature" of my Epson stylus photo 1290 is not printing to the end
of job.
Printer sharing is on but the printer remains invisible to my Mac and W
XP Pro computers.
Where should I take these issues?

firewire hotplugging

Hi everybody, I'm running fc3 quite successful and am very happy with
it. However, shortly after the fresh install firewire hotplugging
started working, and I can't even mount my disks by hand because there
is no /dev/sda<n> created. So I finally came around to look after it but
without success so far, and this is what I get in my system log:
> Jan 25 21:03:06 localhost kernel: ieee1394: Error parsing configrom for node 0-01:1023
> Jan 25 21:03:07 localhost kernel: ieee1394: Error parsing configrom for node 0-00:1023

NVIDIA graphic drivers problem solved

Thanks to those who showed me the way to solve this problem. If maybe anybody
else has and want to solve this problem i will post exect way to do that:
Download latest NVIDIA graphic drivers at www.nvidia.com and patches at
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=42964
# sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-6629-pkg0.run --extract-only
# cd NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-6629-pkg0
# patch -p0 < /path/to/NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-6629-1165235.diff.txt
# patch -p0 < /path/to/NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-6629-1171869.diff.txt
# ./nvidia-installer
# nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf
----
here i had to replace driver name
Section "Device"
Identifier "Videocard0"
Driver "nv" (here you should replace with- Driver "nvidia")
----
after the reboot where the X should start to boot i recieved the error and then
i had to set inittab to run level 3 and reboot, then
# modprobe nvidia
# cp -a /dev/nvidia* /etc/udev/devices/
after this just set run level back to 5 and boot without problems and all works
properly

NVIDIA graphic drivers

Hello! I just about week ago installed my first GNU/Linux operating system and
it was Feodora Core 3. I am glad i chose this one, everything is working
properly and i have installed every application i needed, but only one thing
left - Graphic drivers.
*My graphic card - NVIDIA GeeForce MX 4000 64 MB
I tried NVIDIA drivers i found on www.nvidia.com and it didn`t work out. I
downloaded NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6629-pkg1.run and quited X desktop and run
VIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6629-pkg1.run with sh command from bash with parameter
kernel name and it started to install but i received error and when i booted X
desktop and tried to run application that need graphical accelerate i recieved
an error - Couldn't initialize video: Couldn't find matching GLX visual. I
can`t find out a different way to install a drivers for my graphic card. Sorry
if this is lame, but i just started to use GNU/Linux and i am newb still at this
moment in
Linux.

How do I add a new window manager?

I would like to play with WMI ( wmi.modprobe.de ).
I have gotten it to build on amd64 and can launch it
from the failsafe prompt. What do I have to do to
make it an available session type?

the 'failsafe' session

So, this came up as a sidepoint in another bug.
Say, you're a user, your mouse isn't working. You try and
log into a failsafe session to fix it.
You're now screwed because:
a) if you start an app, it may not have focus
b) there's no keysequence to change focus, unless you're an X guru
Is this a situation we really care about? What do we expect
people to use the failsafe session for, in practice?

Please remove that file, it's a left-over file from an automated process.
rm -f '/usr/lib/libMagick.so.6.0.7.#prelink#.OLoyQ7'
And 'man prelink' explains what prelinking is all about.
