Hi Luya,
Yes, Photos isn't in the best state at the moment. We've been
monitoring the situation for a while and there are plans to remove it
from the default app set for F36 if the situation doesn't improve [1].
If anyone wants to help to improve Photos, we do have updated plans
upstream [2] and it would be great to have contributors to work with
on those.
Cheers,
Allan

Hello team,
After trying GNOME Design which also comes to Design Suite as
inheritance from Workstation, it appears the application is really
unworthy for production use with the following reasons:
- Unacceptable long indexing time to display photos.
(
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-photos/-/issues/162)
- The current photos overview lacked date time for taken pictures to
avoid confusion
- The RPM version has oversized head bar when pluggin an external device
import photos while flatpak version looks fine.
(
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-photos/-/issues/172)
- The overall performance is very slow just to view local photos from
Pictures folder.
For those reasons, GNOME Photos will need a replacement by alternative
as default for Workstation unless the upstream maintainer addresses the
above issue.
Feedback welcome.
