Heya,
GStreamer 1.0 will be coming at the same time as GNOME 3.6, and a number of applications are getting ported to it as we speak.
See https://live.gnome.org/GnomeGoals/PortToGstreamer1 for a list of GNOME applications that rely on GStreamer, and their port status.
We would need enthusiastic packagers to create the first versions of the parallel-installable GStreamer 1.0 package. This means 1.0 packages for: gstreamer gstreamer-plugins-base gstreamer-plugins-good gstreamer-plugins-bad-free
Anyone want to get that started?
Cheers

I'm leaving town for the weekend, but I should be able to work on this next week.

This would be awesome. We'll also need to start making changes to /usr/lib/rpm/gstreamer.prov to support both versions of GStreamer.

I see that Brian's gstreamer1 package has made it to koji. There's still -base and -good in the queue.
If you're a Fedora packager and can review packages, go for it: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=841243 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=841713
If nobody's handled those by the time I get back in front of a computer next week, I'll try and review them.
Cheers
