Hello Ambassadors and the Fedora Community,
The Mindshare committee wants to know your opinion about the role of
Ambassadors in today's Fedora. We have started a Pagure Ticket #145 [1]
and hope you will comment there to keep the conversation in one place and
accessible to all. We also wish to close the debate a take actions after
the FLOCK, so your comments need to be submitted in this timeframe.
Since the adoption of the Advocates program, and Mindshare taking care about of
funding tickets and budget, we, the Mindshare Committee, keep thinking
about the Ambassador's role. Part of this discussion can be followed on [1].
The main reason we are having this discussion is because we understand
the important
role the Ambassador program has played in the project so far, however, we
know several regions are having little to no-activity by Ambassadors, but
having events worked on directly with Mindshare by advocates and other
interested parties.
We come to you for your feedback. Your feedback is CRITICAL and we encourage
you to join the conversation and tell us how the Ambassador title/role/fas
group is helping you be successful in Fedora outreach activities?
More follow up can be read in the Mindshare 2019-06-26 meeting [2] and
2019-07-10 meeting[3].

All,
It has been a pleasure working with everyone over the past eleven years,
but it is with a heavy heart that I will be leaving the Fedora Ambassadors
and moving on to other things. This will be effective today.

The event main theme was "Ecologeek: for a Community Earth".

Behind the booth:
* Nicolas Berrehouc (nicosss);
* Kévin Vaufleury (kvfy);
* (gaia).
On Saturday we talked with 31 people and 23 on the Sunday.
Various questions and comments:
- people who want to quit Windows OS;
- 5 Live-USB boot media from Fedora 29 Workstation and Xfce created;
- 3 people asked for playing under GNU/Linux distributions;
- people learned that, unlike other distributions, Fedora was destined
to have only free software;
- explanations were provided regarding the Red Hat link and the recent
IBM buyout;
- explanations were provided regarding what is a GNU/Linux distribution
and free software;
- thanks from Fedora users for the work done and the quality of the
distribution;
- why we didn’t have goodies for the event.
Only goodies we had were the Cheat Cubes from the work of nobrakal
https://nobrakal.fedorapeople.org/cheat_cubes_fr/ and people liked the
principle of this cube.
Thanks to gaia and kvfy for being here despite the distance of the trip
to assist me.
It was also an opportunity to say hello to bochecha and number80 from
Lyon, misc and Casper present for the week-end and GNOME community at
booth beside to us.
Some media of this year’s event and past editions are available at the
