Well, I'm not saying that the demand is zero, I'm saying it's small
and it's declining (btw I distribute around 10,000 DVDs in EMEA
every year, so I have some insight).
Therefore it may not cause harm, to give one or two more from your
own kindness, to those who cannot attend an event.
Don't get me wrong, the free media program has been and still is
important, but the world is changing. Many new laptops don't even
have DVD drives any more.
Media are cheap and ubiquitous and
Internet connections are fast enough to download several GB in one
hour.
But, cannot be applied to each and all, even in G7 countries.
All I want to say is that maybe we should start thinking
about how to move the program forward and adjust it to changes in
the world and focus more on helping users install Fedora than on
physical distribution itself.
There are changes in the world, but a rising tide,
does not lift all boats.
If they can install themselves, they are more ripe to help Fedora
Which is the reason to give out any form of media\dl\etc..
For example, here in the Czech Republic, we have install.linux.cz
initiative which lists people who can help you install or largely
deploy Linux either for money or on volunteering basis.
Are they not allowed to install themselves,
if you give them the means.
