Hi All,
The fedora-business-cards program has two exciting updates. a) Python 3 and b) New Designs
# Python 3
I've done an update to get the program working in a python3 world. This was required to keep the package from getting dropped. I could really use your help with two things:
1) Please test and give karma
F30: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2019-f6fcdfdec9 F31: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2019-b5ee08f69f Rawhide: see your favorite repo ...
2) Please review the python code and the spec file
Source: https://pagure.io/fedora-business-cards RPM: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/fedora-business-cards
# New Designs
Masha Leonova did an updated horizontal design and a new vertical design, based on work by Samuel José Gutiérrez Avilés. I've implemented two new generators. Try out this scratch build:
F30: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=37439690
Test with: `fedora-business-cards fedora-horizontal` and `fedora-business-cards fedora-vertical`
Please provide feedback in this PR:
https://pagure.io/fedora-business-cards/pull-request/3
I won't merge this without feedback. If you want these designs, please test.
# General
Karma and comments/PRs will let me know this package is important. If it isn't, it will probably be retired when it fails to build again.
Thank you.
regards,
bex

Yay! Excellent news. I'll test it within the next few days, once it hits the -testing repo mirrors. Thanks for working on this.
Regards, Dominik
Hi Brian,
I got fedora-business-cards-2.0-1.fc32.noarch.rpm
(1) only one generator listed (fedora) (2) I can't find the card after its done ... any default output path?

I only built the new designs into an f30 rpm. This is because it was testing and a pain to get done right. Can you test in a container?

Should be in $PWD. Let me do some testing too. Can you open an issue in the pagure.io/fedora-business-cards repo so we can track this?
thanks,

I found the problem. There is a new release of inkscape in rawhide with very different command line options. We need to figure out the best way to handle this. The only ideas I have are:
a) Detect the right version and adjust in the code - feels like "ugh". b) Produce a patch that is applied for rawhide and beyond and then reverse it when f31 goes EOL. c) Produce two versions of the software.
Comments and suggestions welcome in PR (that shows the needed changes): https://pagure.io/fedora-business-cards/pull-request/4
